Why we love it
This necklace feels so special to us - beautifully made and full of character. At its centre is a vibrant 2.09ct peridot within a completely handmade sterling silver and recycled 18ct yellow gold setting by Chris Sherwin.
Chris made the pendant from scratch, raising and shaping the metal by hand from flat sheet rather than casting it. That traditional approach gives the piece a quality you can truly feel - a weight, finish and sense of permanence that is very different from mass-produced jewellery. It's smooth, considered and beautifully resolved from every angle.
The pendant has been paired with a hand selected sterling silver belcher link chain, chosen to complement the strength and feel of Chris’s work without overwhelming it. Near the clasp, Chris has added his own handmade, hand stamped discs - a small but beautiful finishing detail that ties the whole piece back to the maker’s hand.
We love the way the necklace plays with contrast. The cool silver gives it a clean, strong frame, while the recycled 18ct yellow gold adds little moments of warmth around the peridot. The gold granule details are especially lovely - tiny, rounded accents that soften the geometry of the stone and give the pendant a wonderful handmade character. They catch the light in such a beautiful way, almost like small golden sparks against that vivid green.
With over 40 years in the trade, Chris brings an extraordinary level of skill to his work. He works across gold, silver, platinum and occasionally rare metals, and his experience extends far beyond fine jewellery alone. Over the years, he has created larger scale silver pieces, trophies, centrepieces and showpieces, and that incredible designer’s eye is so clear here. The necklace is refined and wearable, but it still has that unmistakable handmade presence.
The peridot has such a fresh, luminous green, and the combination with sterling silver and recycled 18ct yellow gold makes the whole piece feel distinctive without being difficult to wear. It is artistic, but still elegant. Special, but still easy to imagine worn often.
This piece carries Chris’s own marks, and also features the first ever GBJ mark - something we are so proud and excited to share. It feels like a beautiful little piece of our story, marking the very first Goldbrick Jewels guest jeweller collaboration.

How do you authenticate your pieces?
We carefully assess every piece using our gemmological training, specialist tools, and industry experience. We are both GIA Graduate Gemmologists and have also completed the Applied Jewelry Professional (AJP) qualification.
We work closely with our jeweller, who has almost 50 years of experience and is also a qualified gemmologist.
Carat weights are estimates based on measurements taken in the setting unless otherwise stated. Precise weights can only be obtained from loose stones. Many of our diamonds are old cuts, which are often asymmetrical and not calibrated due to traditional hand-cutting techniques.
We aim to provide clear photos and videos from multiple angles to help you purchase with confidence.
Do US customers have to pay tariffs or duties?
No - for United States customers, the price shown includes insured DHL Express or Australia Post shipping and import duties/tariffs.
This means there should be no separate bill for these charges on delivery. We always ship at full declared value so your parcel stays compliant, secure, and fully insured.
