Condition: Beautiful antique condition. Compartment on back side is empty, aside from the lining. Appears sealed tightly, but may be opened by a skilled jeweller at own risk. Small dent to the bottom of the back of the piece.

Why we love it
This one really is something special! An exceptional antique heart pendant, crafted in 15ct gold (discontinued in 1932) and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1900. Yes, this beauty is 126 years old this year! The front is beautifully decorated with starset rose cut diamonds, each one sparkling softly in the light. Hearts and star settings are always gorgeous and sought after, and this piece combines these features so well.
Turn the pendant over and you’ll find a small compartment - this appears to be a mourning pendant, though the compartment is now empty except for the lining. The English hallmarks are crisp and clear, and even the original jump ring (unsoldered) is stamped for 15ct gold, which is a fantastic detail.
This is the kind of piece that seasoned collectors will recognise and appreciate - stunning, significant, rare and endlessly wearable. A standout example of late Victorian craftsmanship, and one of the most amazing antique pendants we've ever sourced.

How do you authenticate your pieces?
We carefully assess every piece using our gemmological training, specialist tools, and industry experience. We are both studying toward the Graduate Gemmologist (GG) qualification with GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and have completed the Applied Jewelry Professional (AJP) and Graduate Diamonds (GD) qualifications.
We also work closely with our jeweller, who has almost 50 years of experience and is a qualified gemmologist.
Carat weights are estimates based on measurements taken in the setting unless otherwise stated. Precise weights can only be obtained from loose stones. Many of our diamonds are old cuts, which are often asymmetrical and not calibrated due to traditional hand-cutting techniques.
